The Shelter

This shelter at Ruta de Pedra en Sec GR 211 is located in the mountain ranges of Tramuntana, in the town of Deia, in the district of D’Es Clot, near the stream of Major and with privileged views over the Espadats del Teix, Es Puig, the church and the terraces of Sa Costa. The house has been restored and inside you can find a mill with its main elements intended for the production of oil (mill, beam press, forge and barns).

From the shelter you can take walks through the old town of Deia which has impressive examples of its popular architechture and places of interest like the parochial church and its cemetery. Simple, but of great beauty. Its surroundings also offer numerous possibilities to walk, like the a visit to the small beach of Deia along the way to Ribassos or on the way to the pines of Pedrissa going to Sa Pesta.


  • Boarding

    Enjoy the deserving rest in the bunk beds of the shelter. Wide and comfortable to enjoy a pleasant height along the way.

  • Breakfast

    We offer the possibility to have breakfast in the facilities in the shelter. Coffe or tea cup, oranje juice, fruit, 2 slices mallorcan bread with tomato, sea fennel and olives, a typical mallorcan breakfast.

  • Personal Cleanliness

    It has a large area of ​​grooming. Hot showers, toilets and complete bathroom.


The Shelter of Can Boi can be found situated inside the Ruta de Pedra en Sec GR 211 of Mallorca. This route suggests you to discover the landscapes constructed with dry stone from the Serra de Tramuntana, today claimed as the Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO in the Cultural Landscapes. In the same way, this route makes it possible to visit the interesting historical vestiges to discover the myths and legends, to get to know the traditions, the architecture, the culture, the gastronomy and the craftsmanship of this privileged place of the island geography.

The hiking itinerary usually comes close to the coast and to some more elevated peaks of the cordillera being the highest point of the tour of Es Coll de Ses Cases of Sa Neu with a bit more than one thousand two hundred meters in height. This combination and the diversity of the vegetation with holm oaks, bushes and maquis typically mediterrenean contribute to increase the landscaping interest of the hiker.

The Ruta de Pedra en Sec GR 211 has the main support of the Consell de Mallorca in the network of the restoration of the old roads that in fact make it more accessible for hikers of all ages. As well as the climatology of the island makes it more practicable for almost the whole year round.
